A Great Idea Executed to Half Ass Perfection

Ok first off, shouldn't the ticket stub be of a Rays home game?

Or, if Longoria accomplished something special in this game, shouldn't the picture have him in his road uniform.

I have not see the card back but I give it a 50/50 chance that his personal box-score from this game is actually detailed.

Classic case of a company trying to "stick something different in a card" and letting the execution and design fall by the wayside.

of cource 6/10/2008 is a 6-1 loss to the Angels. Longoria did get 2 of the 4 hits for the Rays. maybe that is what the card signifies. he got half the teams hits. great idea - and absolutely no effort put into the execution - creates a who cares card.

Great post. A ticket stub from a significant game with some details about the game on the back of the card would actually be a good idea, but of course Topps executes it poorly...

I'm kind of mystified that they chose to show this as a preview. It's one thing half-assing something and having some blogger call you on it, but when you've got the opportunity to only show cards you know are great then it's the eptiome of half-assing something if they show this. Or this is as good as it gets...
