The Hobby Stimulus Plan

The greater Chicago region is the second largest sports market in the country (sorry LA, you don't have a football team) so it was with great confidence that Fan's Edge, who last year purchased the rights to SportsFest from Krause Publications, decided to host it's annual show 2 weeks prior to the National.

Aware of the impact the recession has had on people's discretionary spending, show management (Mounted Memories) has done several things to provide added value for collectors and fans including FREE Admission Thursday (today) and Rollback Fridays.

Rollback Fridays includes up to a 50% discount on selected athletes appearing in the impressive autograph pavillion. I'm not talking scrubs either. Examples are Jim Palmer ($29), Bench ($49), Dick Butkus ($49), Jim Brown ($79), Gordie Howe ($69), Billy Williams ($25), Jerry Azumah ($10), Steve Garvey ($15), Brian urlacher ($79), Ken Stabler ($29), Bob Feller ($10), Earl Weaver ($19), and that's just a sample.

In addition the first 1000 collectors on Thursdaywill receive a FREE gift and the first 200 will receive a FREE Pete Rose autograph!

Saturday and Sunday the FREE gift is for the first 2,500 people and the first 200 on Saturday will receive a FREE Dick Butkus autograph and on Sunday the first 200 will receive a FREE Gayle Sayers.

However, this show is not for locals only. Also appearing are Peyton Manning , Joseph Addai, Willie Mays, Brandi Chastain, Bill Russell, Jake LaMotta, Cal Ripken Jr. and many more.

It's like a local National really. It's nice to see the Industry side of the Hobby give something back to collectors, especially now.
