NHL Hockey 2009-10: The Chicago Blackhawks Embrace Their Heritage

There are few things better than the start of a new hockey season. The Chicago Blackhawks return with a core of superstar talent in Jonathan Toes, Patrick Kane, and Kris Versteeg to avenge the loss in the Western Conference Finals to the hated Detroit Redwings. Looking to capitalize on their playoff experience from a year ago, the Blackhawks began the 2009-10 campaign with back to back games against the Florida Panthers in Helsinki, Finland. Capturing 3 of a possible 4 points, they returned to face the Wings in the Motor City. They lost that game but are 4-1-1 in their last 6 games.

Last Saturday was the home opener against another conference rival in the Colorado Avalanche. The Blackhawks, under new management, with the passing of Bill Wirtz a couple of years ago, have made a commitment to embrace their long and storied heritage and nothing showcases that better than the Hawks ambassadors taking to the ice in this video.
