Unique? Try Aweful.

When I first saw this card whil;e browing eFee (eBay), this card actually made me angry. I have never had a reaction like this to a trading card. There was just something about seeing such a worthless and meaningless trading card that really got to me.
Grant it, Topps has opened themselves up to a lot of criticism by naming their recent release "Unique". As you can see, there is nothing at all "unique" about this card. Don't get me wrong but there are several oversized patch cards I have seen that I do like.
At one point in time, circa 2003-4, jumbo jersey swatches were cool because collectors were overwhelmed with postage stamp sized, or smaller memorabilia/relic swatches. Fast forward several year later and to put a jumbo sized, 1-color swatch, in a product called "Unique" is really indicitive of just what a mess the market has become. Don't get me wrong as there are several oversized patch cards I have seen that I do like. God help us and "F" this card.

That card will not look like that for long, some asshole will buy it for $2 and throw some fake patch in there and it will sell for a lot more.

That looks like a Tri-Star card ...

On the plus side, you can blow your nose in it.

They put a big giant boring swatch where the big giant boring photo was and put a tiny little photo where the tiny little swatch was.

Maybe if you look at it as an Anti-Relic, you would like it more. Because you're the Anti-Beckett.

Or maybe a Bizarro-Relic.

That looks like a swatch of toliet paper. What a waste of a jersey and cardboard.

You know how there's that stupid cliche of rich people lighting cigars with $100 bills? There should be a stupid cliche of rich card collectors using relic swatches to wipe their arse.
