Off Topic- When Movies and Comic Books Collide (w/ must see trailer)

The silver screen has seen a run on comic book characters in recent years, including the screen adaptation of Watchman, the only graphic novel ever listed on Time Magazines "Most Important Books of All Time" list. Sometimes they work (Spiderman trilogy), sometimes they don't (Punisher War Zone), sometimes they're epic (Dark Knight) and sometimes . . they're just . . .KICK ASS!!

I think that the film version of Watchman was pretty great all things considered. Although Alan Moore was so pissed they changed the ending he had his name taken off the credits. Most of the movie holds true to the source material though. And sadly the ending is probably better and more "plausable" in the movie than in the graphic novel. I have to say they did a great job with Iron Man to and the X-Men movies are too terrible either. It'll be interesting what Disney does with the characters now that they own them, at least the ones not already licensed out. And I was so happy with the last two batman movies lets face it the old franchise became a joke with Batman and Robin and their batnipples.

Now, as a movie to sit back and giggle at - Punisher War Zone was great. It's totally a beer and pizza movie, you know? I'd watch that over X-Men III or Wolverine. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Kick Ass! And I hope to get a hold of the first few issues of the comic to review on my "A Comic A Day" blog feature before the movie is released.
