MSNBC vs CBS

I know he doesn't work for MSNBC anymore but I needed a title, so sue me. Keith Olbermann is pretty much an idiot who I would just assume give a stiff arm to in his liberal bleeding heart than have a conversation with about trading cards. However, the truth of the matter is that with his relationship with Topps paired with his public persona, and media savvy, have allowed him to be a pretty good ambassador for The Hobby that we love.

Compare and contrast this with the complete hack job put together by the CBS Morning Show's Armen Keteyian. If you've been living under a rock and missed the story, the bottom line is that it was one of the worst pieces of human interest/investigative journalism I have ever seen. Keteyian relied on the opinion of Alan Mr. "I haven't been to a National in years" Rosen and the attendance, or lack thereof, of a school basement card show on a Tuesday night in Parsippany NJ, to say with resounding authority, "baseball card collecting and the hobby are dead."

Mr. Keteyian has been inundated with collector outcry on Twitter and has agreed to come on the Cardboard Connection Radio Show to discuss further sometime in the next couple of weeks.

So even though I am not the biggest fan of Keith Olbermann, he is clearly a mainstream press guy that has The Hobby's best interest in mind and THAT is something I can respect.
