I agree Robby. The whole losing money thing was over the top. Time will tell I suppose but I'm not holding my breath that this turns out well.

I wonder how the mainstream audience views this... My guess is it may do more harm than good to the hobby. It just reeks of sleaze. Unlike Pawn Stars or American Pickers, Auction Kings, etc, the guys at Grey Flannel aren't really likeable characters.

High ball estimates and the fact that it's always portrayed that they are going to lose a ton of THEIR money on consignment is a joke. They really don't lose on consignment except for the authentication fees.

I'm waiting for more episodes to see how this thing pans out. I, like yourself, was a little off put by the way those guys at Grey Flannel were portrayed. That may very well be how they actually are but something tells me that this might have been given a bit of the "hollywood" treatment.
